Why should you join Twitter if you haven’t already? For starters, it’s a great medium for sharing and discovery. I’ve discovered countless new food blogs, trends and restaurants (and plenty of worthless/fascinating celebrity gossip too) through my interactions with the Foodista Twitter community.

The concept of a recycled leather handbag was first introduced to me when I wrote about the Novella Royal Mister Stud Bowler Bag back in August. It was this LA-based designer that made me think of eco-friendly handbags in a whole new (and insanely creative) way.

title pic The Sophisticated Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Moon

Unfortunately, a 37mm looks kind of silly on my 7.5″ wrist. Otherwise, a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Moon like Rob’s ( friend of the show since 2004) would be a perfect timepiece for formal occasions. Although Jaeger-LeCoultre seems to have entered a different route to approach its clients since a while, with big bulky watches or with high-tech materials, this Master Moon with a diameter of 37mm and a height of just 10mm is a true classic that at least will look good on you in a few decades from now.

This week, West Hollywood may become the first city in the country to ban the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores , potentially dealing a major blow to puppy mills , where constant confinement and a lack of adequate veterinary care and socialization often lead animals to become unhealthy and difficult to socialize.

title pic See Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Lady GaGa & More Red Carpet Royalty At The Grammys!

No disrespect to the boys, but the 2010 Grammy Awards really could’ve been renamed “Ladies’ Night” given the majority of the event’s biggest nominees, winners, and knock-your-socks-off performances. Taylor Swift took home the night’s most coveted honor (surprise, surprise), but fellow musical leading ladies Beyonce , Carrie Underwood , and Fergie (along with the rest of BEP, of course) held their own onstage and on the red carpet ! Lady GaGa defied gravity in a sparkly orbit dress complete with bedazzled Nina Ricci platforms, and Beyonce (now the most Grammy-decorated female ever !), seems to have taken over JLo’s daring fashion role with her down-to-there necklines.

After a recent trip to India, Katy Perry brought back a variety of bindis and together, with celebrity makeup artist Jake Bailey , they used this as inspiration to create a “Bettie age, Indian princess look” for last night’s Grammy Awards . Today, PETA and Zoocheck Canada are officially initiating a lawsuit against the city of Edmonton, Alberta, over the cruel and apparently unlawful conditions under which Lucy , a solitary elephant at the Edmonton Valley Zoo, is forced to live. kidssavelucy / CC Lucy’s health issues—which include upper respiratory problems, arthritis, obesity, and chronic foot ailments—are the result of the substandard conditions at Edmonton Valley Zoo and are further aggravated by the region’s frigid climate, which is inappropriate for an Asian elephant. Lucy has also been alone for the past two years, spends most of her time in a small barn, and exhibits behavior that indicates severe psychological distress

title pic Movie Monday:The International

I’m a sucker for a thriller of the espionage variety so 2009′s The International, was right up my alley! Murder, conspiracy, rogue agents; this flick had all the makings of a good, edge-of-your-seat watch. What’ll you’ll really get wrapped up in though–well, if you’re a knitter, anyway–is the comfy cardigan the ADA Whitman dons during the drama!Naomi Watts as “Eleanor Whitman”, wearing a

title pic Boston’s Logan Airport Ditches Glue Traps

Whenever people ask where my parents got my name, I never miss a beat before saying “The X-Men.” Am I really named after Wolverine? Maybe, maybe not, but as a lifetime comic book fan I think it’s a better story than “My great-great uncle three times removed was a Civil War hero …” and, well, you get the point. After today, though, I just might start mixing my story up a little, considering that I now share my name with another hero for animals: Boston’s Logan Airport has agreed to stop using glue traps and is the latest recipient of PETA’s Compassionate Action Award
