I love to Create: Lucky Horseshoe
Maybe it’s because I live in Texas, but old horseshoes seem to be a dime a dozen at flea markets and vintage stores. Even if the Western look isn’t your gig with a layer of paint (and perhaps, a little extra razzle-dazzle), these little charms can still be the perfect, lucky talisman for your home or office!MaterialsOld HorseshoeSpray Paint PrimerTulip Soft Paint in Color: AzaleaSponge

Hail to the Chief
By Gena Philibert Ortega Most everyone has those family stories that may not be backed up with written documentation, but the story is strongly believed all the same. Maybe your grandma told you that her grandfather rode with Jesse James. Maybe you have a Lee surname and you have been told that somewhere on the family tree you are related to General Robert E.

Hacking your online identity
Geo-location services are very useful, helping you find a post office, ATM, decent restaurant, or hooking up with friends. They are commonly used in conjunction with smart phones and other mobile devices that ping your location (based on network coordinates or the global positioning system, GPS) back to the owner of a given system. Location-based services also represent a security threat, especially if you hook whereabouts up to the likes of FourSquare and other social networking sites that can be set to reveal publicly your status in a timely way and reveal your precise position to all and sundry

Census 2010
Every child loves a good game of hide and seek. There are the fun butterflies they get in their tummies when they’re waiting to be discovered and the pride they feel when they’re able to count to ten and then yelling, “Ready or not, here I come!” But children who are hidden from the U.S. Census counts (taken only once every 10 years) are not a laughing matter.

Cocoa Barley Bites
Change is the only thing constant in my cooking.Remember these Energy bites ? I recreate the same recipe with change of ingredients for these tasty snack time bites, Barley flour and cocoa instead of wheat flour and a different sweetener and fat.Barley flour imparts soft and crumbly texture ,the cocoa and bitter sweet chocolate chips add an intense chocolate smack to the bites. This particular barley flour purchased from the local Indian store had the fibrous look and feel, can also be seen in the end result of baking these bites.Barley flour is also available in other specialty stores. Its rich in protein and fiber but not free of gluten.

Cistus : Heaven-Scent from the Desert
Cistus likes to sneak up on you. For months after my arrival in California, I wondered about that intriguingly dry, woody perfume that seemed to be strongest in the less pampered areas of the neighborhood. I came to love the smell before I ever saw the plant in bloom; I had assumed it was some scraggly little weed, or even dry-rotting wood.

Asian American Voices Documentary Addresses Policy Through Personal Stories
As a teacher, I see the struggles that immigrant families face in terms of learning the culture, trying to navigate the school system, and lacking the language to help with homework and know that these are the same issues that my father faced when he came to this country from China at age 10.
