Father's Day is this Sunday, June 20. Each gift idea below is good for a different type of dad. And if the father you're buying a gift for simply has too many interests to narrow down the choices, a gift card to a home center like Home Depot or Lowe's might appeal.

Oil furnaces, like the Newac NL3 shown, now get bigger cash for appliances rebates in Michigan. The Michigan Appliance Rebate Program is doling out about $9.6 million in cash for appliances rebates , splitting that money into rebates for dishwashers, refrigerators, and washing machines and bigger cash incentives for furnaces and water heaters . While 43 percent of the money for rebates on dishwashers ($25 or $50 rebate), refrigerators ($50 or $100), and washing machines ($50) has been reserved since cash for appliances launched in Michigan on February 10, only 5 percent of the more than $2 million in rebates earmarked for furnaces and water heaters has been claimed.

At the recent TECHmunch NYC, Nichelle reminds us that even for seasoned bloggers, we can all learn something new when creative minds are brought together. This video shows her brief introduction, but she represented Cupcakes Take the Cake in later panels, such as “Posting High-Value Content & Curating Flavors.” Nichelle brought up funny and oh-so-true tidbits about what we’ve come to realize about cupcakes along the way. For one, this “Red Velvet Cupcake” phenomenon is utterly and overwhelmingly popular.

I’m eating my words about celebs being heartless, image-obsessed poseurs (or words to that effect!) This is the second time in a week that The Bag Lady has clocked a famous type toting a charity handbag — and doing the good deed with vast amounts of style.

Much as we love them, Paul Smith’s more familiar stripes and colours are appealing to a more limited market by the day, so it’s good to see the hugely talented designer turn his skills to something a little different.

Of all the museum shops we’ve ever been tempted into when scoping out an exhibition, the V&A has got to be responsible for the most impulse purchases. There’s always something to tempt and delight the eye, and most are from interesting indie labels you won’t find in many other stores.

title pic Eating My Way Through Iceland

Just when you thought you’d heard enough about Iceland this year, I’m here to tell you another tale. Fortunately this one does not involve volcanoes or cancelled flights. This past December, I traveled to the North Atlantic nation for four days of exploration.  Before leaving for my trip I spent time reading all about the country- the diverse geology, the culture, the places to visit, Icelandic curse words, but nothing was as interesting as the food.
