Pan-O-Rama
The native file would print at about 74 inches wide by 18 inches high. I’m reluctant to even post the severely diminished scale of this and the following panorama because the originals are just so much cooler.

My Long Run
I am currently on a solo run of 1002 miles in a calendar month. The distance is of course based on the date of Lance’s diagnosis, and is in memory of my Dad who died of Cancer of the esophagus five years ago in September. To complete the event I will need to cover an average of over 32 miles per day and as I type this I am 12 days into the challenge and have covered 401 miles

Spotted: President Obama Attending a Washington Mystics Game (& WNBA Ticket Discount)
Just 3 days after I heard President Obama speak at the National Urban League’s Centennial Convention , I happened to share the same air space (as a Twitter friend pointed out!) with him again at a Washington Mystics game! I have to admit that while the action on the floor was highly exciting, I couldn’t help watching The President embrace his role as a dad a mere 12 rows in front of us.

Family, Attitude, Faith, Courage, Strength
My life has been all about those words as they appear on my team’s LIVE STRONG Challenge jersey logo. Together, these words intertwine and form the foundation of my life for the last two-and-a-half-years, and they are the reason why I expanded my involvement in the LIVE STRONG Challenge from participant to team captain. I was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer in January of 2008—just a week before my twin daughters’ first birthdays.

Ride for Yellow
Yesterday, I attended the inaugural Ride for Yellow event in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Dave Nagel, a grassroots fundraiser and the brother of Steve Nagel (an extraordinary fundraiser in his own right), created a grassroots, community-based mountain bike event benefiting LIVE STRONG and Steamboat cancer initiatives. The event kicked off with a party at the Honey Stinger office in downtown Steamboat.

A short update!
Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience during my move. Things have been going very well so far — the cats were fine on the plane, all of our stuff made it across the country and we’ve already found an apartment. So far, the worst that has happened is that I packed my shampoo in my suitcase without closing the top properly, but even the annoyance from that was very well contained; with something like that as our biggest problem, I think we’ve been extraordinarily lucky indeed! We are still getting the new apartment set up, and I have a hard time concentrating on anything while I feel so unsettled, but as things come together, I find myself wondering which box I packed my pencil sharpener in… Be patient with me a little while longer, and I hope to be drawing again by next week!

The Long Road Home
It’s been a very, very busy week, and I’m hoping to catch up on everything in all my lives, work, personal, domestic…. I drove over 800 miles to Arkansas without stopping for the night by myself and then back here to Virginia with my husband (who did the driving this time).

Recent Acquisitions
Camouflage baseball cap from the 99p store , Peckham PECKHAM’S 99p STORE is quite literally a cavern of under-the-radar style. Taken out of context the camouflage print on this hat becomes more decorative; a buttoned-up shirt is essential. With branches all over the country and an ever-changing selection of stock, it’s worth a nose.

A snapshot of Spring 11: silence, strength, symmetry.
Mr. Hare is a big inspiration at the moment- not only are his shoes quite the most covetable thing on the planet, but his blog also cuts away at most of the flim-flam of blogging (overlong introductions like this) to get to the heart of the matter. Following his recent wish-list (or inspiration list) for Spring 11, MENSWEAR has come up with our own collage of the finest, the sexiest… the simplest… the most BOOTilicious… We’re getting aroused by camel jackets, black socks, patterned shirts, belted waists, belted cardigans, sandals, sleeves, trenches, belts with that annoying unnamed down-pointy end, leather patches, double-layered shorts, tees, cropped knits… can you guess which is by whom
