title pic Vintage Fashionistas Love the Prince of Prints

When Emilio Pucci scribbled his signature across his designs, it marked the debut of a designer’s name as an external logo. But Pucci wasn’t content to just make dresses. His designs included the now famous Braniff International Airlines uniforms, the logo for the Apollo 15 space mission, tableware for Rosenthal, and even the interior of a Ford Lincoln Continental! Now vintage designs by this “Prince of Prints” are legendary and forever popular because they make any girl feel like a “Princess of Prints.” Whether its for day or evening, no one rocks bold, brightly colored graphics better than this CFDA award winner and this fabulous little collection of vintage Pucci frocks shows off his genius.

title pic Add Some Shape With A Tulip Skirt!

A lot of brands and designers have been embracing the curves of women with larger hips, and although I think it’s great for fashionable clothing to be available for women of all shapes and sizes, what if you have the opposite problem of hips that are too slender or don’t help to define your waistline? Tulip skirts are a great way to add a bit of shape and volume to the hip area, perfect for women who struggle with square or small hips. They also help make the legs look longer, and they have a bit of a princess quality about them.

title pic Bargain Drugstore Beauty That’s Actually Worth Straying From Sephora

For the most part, I’m pretty sure I can say that my rather extensive cosmetics collection reflects a fairly open-minded outlook on makeup brands — I’ve got a good mixture of both bargain and high-end beauty loot. However, I think this unbiased balance is mostly due to the fact that I just compulsively buy cosmetics just about anywhere I go, and not because I necessarily view all makeup equally

title pic Shoe of the Week: Marc by Marc Jacobs Peep Toe Suede Booties

While I’m most definitely a shoe girl (and really… who isn’t?), you’ll probably never see me standing in line for shoes from the Jimmy Choo for H&M collection or fighting off fellow bargain hunters for Louboutins at the famed Barney’s warehouse sale. I’m not saying I don’t love a bargain, I’m just not a die hard lover of any particular shoe designer

title pic Hot In The Hive: USB-Powered Eyelash Curler!

I know what you’re thinking — vibrating mascara, at-home airbrushing kits, and now a USB heated eyelash curler — what will they think of next?! Though I’m still convinced that mascara that moves on its own is just a recipe for disaster, I have to admit I’m pretty intrigued by this USB beauty tool , especially as a girl who is rarely without her laptop and her makeup bag . I’m already a big fan of my Sephora heated eyelash curler…

title pic Send In the (Killer) Clown

Last year’s McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago was chock-full of behemoth balloon characters and live entertainment (was that the cast of Jersey Boys I saw serenading their way down State Street?), but something was missing … Wait, I know! Where was the killer clown? Considering that McDonald’s refuses to adopt controlled-atmosphere killing (CAK)—the less cruel slaughter method that would spare birds from having their throats cut while they’re still conscious and from being scalded alive—no parade sponsored by the fast-food fiend would be complete without a bloodstained float full of terrified birds being butchered by “Raging Ronnie,” the grand marshal of gore

title pic Women of the World—Unite (and Go Vegan)

Will some of the most politically powerful women in the world go vegan? cidse / CC Following a recent UN report that finds that women—particularly those in poor countries who make up the majority of agricultural workers and don’t have other job options—are going to be most impacted by climate change, PETA has fired off letters to Hillary Clinton , Nancy Pelosi , Condoleezza Rice , and Madeleine Albright asking them to adopt a vegan diet and speak out about the environmental hazards of eating meat. PETA Germany is asking Chancellor Angela Merkel to do the same.

title pic Video Style Steal: Beyonce And Lady GaGa Team Up For "Video Phone"

Beyonce has always been known for topping herself when it comes to putting on a good show and looking fab while doing so, but for her latest video “Video Phone,” B’s got a secret weapon aside from all those Nerf gun props — Lady GaGa . The result? Lots of gyrating, futuristic flair, and of course, more costume changes than you can accurately keep track of

title pic Add Some Scottish Influence With Houndstooth Home Decor

Houndstooth always reminds me of Sherlock Holmes and pants that chefs always wear, but lately I’ve been seeing it in a variety of places. The print may have originated in the woven wool cloth of the Scottish Lowlands, but it has universal appeal in any way you can find the print whether it’s on clothing or furniture. In the home, it can be an unexpected accent amidst monochrome colors or even floral prints

title pic Puerto Rican Senator Condemns Bioculture on CNN

PETA’s campaign to stop plans by biological supply company Bioculture to build a monkey-breeding facility in Guayama, Puerto Rico, just got another shot in the arm, courtesy of CNN Headline News’ Jane Velez-Mitchell. In an update to a story that originally broke on Issues With Jane Velez-Mitchell back in July, PETA Vice President Kathy Guillermo appeared on the show along with Puerto Rican Senator Melinda Romero to talk about the controversy surrounding Bioculture’s plans to tear wild monkeys out of their native home in Mauritius, lock them up in cages, and sell their offspring to laboratories

title pic Be One With The Woodsmen And Warm Up In A Trapper Hat!

I’m not gonna lie — while the cozy cable knits and warm faux fur of a basic trendy trapper hat look too comfy to pass up, this winter’s hottest accessory isn’t necessarily for everyone. It takes a certain winter style to pull off this bundled-up woodsy look, especially since it can easily bring to mind childhood memories of getting wrapped up like a Christmas present every time you wanted to play outside. The key is to not take the trend too seriously — treat trapper hats like a casually thrown-on accessory, instead of a frostbite-killing survival tactic

title pic NBC Nixes Family-Friendly Thanksgiving Day Parade Ad

Hey, NBC: We’d like to know … if a family-friendly announcement against abusing turkeys (who live in dark, ammonia-filled sheds where workers clip their beaks, break their legs and wings, and crush their heads) doesn’t meet your standards, then what does? When we first submitted our newest commercial to NBC in the hopes of running it during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the station asked us to give more information about the cruelty behind turkey slaughter to back up the statements made in the ad.

title pic Bag Of The Week: The Kooba ‘Jagger’ Bag

I’m sure I’m not the only one by far, but I am guilty of having an extensive handbag collection of all different shapes and styles. In recent years, however, I have matured from snatching up any cute purse and taking it home, only to realize that it doesn’t actually match anything I own and have it just sit there until I obtain an outfit that goes with it. Instead, I have wised up and learned to invest in a well-made, high-quality piece that is versatile and convenient, as well as trendy but classic at the same time.

title pic Style Flashback: Clarissa From ‘Clarissa Explains It All’

“Clarissa Explains It All” had us hooked on SNICK (that’s Saturday Night Nickelodeon for those of you who don’t remember) from the moment it debuted. We loved how Clarissa broke the fourth wall to let us into her world and we can still sing along with the show’s theme song (“naaah nah nah na-na…way cool”), but it was her eclectic teenybopper style that had us always coming back for more

title pic Homeless Animals Receive Special Holiday Gift

This week Windsor, North Carolina, officials cut the red ribbon that wrapped PETA’s very special gift to animals in this small Southern town. For nearly a decade, PETA has been working with Windsor and other area towns to provide homeless animals in their care with better housing conditions and a peaceful end when euthanasia is the most humane option . In 2000, PETA was alerted by a caring police officer to terrible suffering and appalling conditions at several “animal shelters” in North Carolina , some of which were nothing more than outdoor shacks, like the one in Windsor.

title pic Jimmy Choo For H&M Collection Debuts For VIPs, And All Dignity Is Lost

On the eve of the official Jimmy Choo for H&M collection debut, I made my way to the retailer’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York for a special pre-launch shopping event. Celebs, fashion professionals, and press made up the invitation list–par for the course at these shindigs. We’re generally a jaded lot (or, at least, pretend to be).

title pic Vintage Fashionistas Savor Gray This Season!

When searching for vintage clothing online, it’s important that you use the right keywords to find what you want. And heaven forbid you’re looking for something gray, because well, there’s gray (the American spelling) and then there’s grey (the British spelling). Of course, since vintage clothing sellers on both sides of the pond spell this color both ways without any sensible rhyme or reason, the wise online vintage shopper knows to plug both spellings into their search engines.
