title pic Zooey Deschanel Not a Trend Follower

When it comes to celebrity fashion trends, actress and musician Zooey Deschanel says she is not a follower, but rather has a more whimsical, girly style. Deschanel recently told Britain’s InStyle magazine, “My style is pretty, soft, feminine and whimsical. My favourite designers are YSL, Chloe, Miu Miu and Karen Walker.” Deschanel has been too busy of late to worry much about celebrity fashion style or the latest gossip celebrity chroniclers dig up.

title pic Bring Out The Wild Side With Animal Prints This Fall

Leopard Print Trench Coat – $3,990.00 My favorite Animal Prints is a type of fashion style that is suggestive of strongly bold image and fashion statement. Such fashion style is not at all new to the industry as it has a tendency for a comeback when the season calls for it. By far the print that stands out the most is the style having leopard prints, as it projects class

Forget everything you know about brooches (ie: old-fashioned cameo pins and gaudy pearl-and-rhinestone creations from your grandmother’s jewelry box). Alex and Chloe is bringing them back into the limelight after being way underrated and misunderstood for so long in the grand scheme of jewelry pieces

title pic Victory! Kids Help Save Foxes

You think “coon on a log” is bad? Allow me to introduce you to the delightful sport of “fox penning,” in which dogs are set loose on a fox or coyote confined to a pen and allowed to tear the animal to shreds. The good news is that this despicable pastime is now banned in Florida , thanks to the efforts of PETA members and other concerned citizens , including several youngsters who were among 80 people who testified on the issue at a Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting.

title pic Victory! Horse Trainer Barred From Racing in California

Pottok / CC by 3.0 Earlier this week, we asked you to urge the California Horse Racing Board (CHRB) to terminate harness racer Christopher Lefebvre’s license to race in the state because of his deplorable track record—he has a criminal conviction for cruelty to animals in Maine, among other charges. Thanks to all of you who responded to our action alert, the board has now done just that! Like their cousins who are used in thoroughbred racing , many horses who are used in harness racing are treated as if they were equipment, and most “losers” are sent to slaughter.

title pic Meet Chance and Scout, Two Dogs Sold for Experimentation

Remember the North Utah Valley Animal Shelter (NUVAS) ? You know, the only animal shelter in Utah that still betrays dogs and cats by selling them to the University of Utah for invasive, painful, and deadly experiments? PETA recently obtained photos of nearly 50 dogs whom NUVAS had sold for experiments, and here are two of them: These sweet dogs, who were probably once someone’s companions, may have ended up like other dogs who were recently purchased from NUVAS: killed and dissected after having holes cut into their necks and chests and pacemakers implanted in their hearts in order to induce an irregular heartbeat

title pic Trend Report: Sunglasses

By Alison Singh Gee for  The Style Glossy The perfect pair of sunglasses can totally rock your summer. It’s the one accessory that instantly communicates style, mystery and even a great sense of humor or a certain seriousness. Take, for example, Lindsay Lohan’s eyeglass choice for a recent court appearance — an elegant modernized cat eye (Dior’s Bagatelle) that suggested Catherine Deneuve respectability rather than Paris Hilton frivolity

title pic Skin From More Than 750 Bodies Discovered in Holland

Boxes containing the remains of more than 750 raccoon dogs were found in a Netherlands meadow last week. The pelts were missing the strip of fur down the center of the animals’ backs, a tell-tale sign that the animals were likely skinned to make fur collars and cuffs. Although there are no known raccoon dog fur farms in the Netherlands, thousands of these animals are bred and skinned on fur farms in China and their pelts are shipped all over the world for sale
