iMapMyRun Uses iPhone’s GPS to Track Route & Store Run Data
A bunch of my colleagues are starting to train for upcoming 10Ks and fall marathons and while I can’t say I’m joining them, I’m cheering them on and have been talking up the iMapMyRun app. Even though my runs are confined to a mile of pushing a jogging stroller of 75 lbs of kids to the park in nice weather, iMapMyRun is good for novices like me or even the more hard core runners going for 26.2 miles

Chemophobia and risk
As a chemist by training, I’ve always been loath to give credence to unfounded criticism of synthetic chemicals that might stoke up chemophobia. Movie Monday:The Children
Creepy kids kinda freak me out so a movie called, “The Children” featuring possessed, murderous tots, is not my idea of a good time. And even though you use toothpaste to clean your teeth, and water to rinse your toothbrush, studies have shown that toothbrushes still become contaminated with bacteria, blood, saliva, oral debris and toothpaste. The Journal of American Dental Association says that contaminated toothbrushes not only harbor, but also transmit both viruses and bacteria that cause systemic, localized and oral inflammatory diseases . Want a clean brush every time?

Lose It! iPhone App Helps Manage Calorie Intake
I tend not to make New Years’ resolutions because I just end up breaking them but between holiday houseguests and this weekend’s birthday celebration for Little Miss Techie, I’m vowing to get back on the exercise bandwagon.
