Oil furnaces, like the Newac NL3 shown, now get bigger cash for appliances rebates in Michigan. The Michigan Appliance Rebate Program is doling out about $9.6 million in cash for appliances rebates , splitting that money into rebates for dishwashers, refrigerators, and washing machines and bigger cash incentives for furnaces and water heaters . While 43 percent of the money for rebates on dishwashers ($25 or $50 rebate), refrigerators ($50 or $100), and washing machines ($50) has been reserved since cash for appliances launched in Michigan on February 10, only 5 percent of the more than $2 million in rebates earmarked for furnaces and water heaters has been claimed.
