title pic Even if cash for appliances has closed where you live, you might still be able to find rebates

It pays to keep on looking for appliance rebates. In New Jersey, for instance, the ARRA Energy Star Appliance Rebate program has ended, but the state's Clean Energy Program recently instituted a $20 rebate for the purchase of a new Energy Star-qualified room air conditioner through August 31, 2010, with the rebate application and all required documentation postmarked by September 30, 2010.

title pic Blogger Turned Baker!

While I may have spent a good portion of the week surgically attached to the computer monitoring my email with messages from WhyMommy & team about the aforementioned NASA grant , this week also brought a different challenge…Execute the wedding cake that I volunteered to make for Little Miss Techie’s fabulous kindergarten teacher’s wedding shower. Success! The next challenge was to transport it to school without frosting mishaps/toppling in the car/tripping down school steps, getting Little Miss Techie to ceremoniously place the bride and groom atop said cake while keeping it away from 16 sets of little fingers upon arrival.

Notice the role that yarn wear played in setting the scene of a teenager living (and escaping from) a foster facility and clinging to whatever comfort she
