UPDATE: Congratulations to Andrea who won the $100 gift certificate to Tea Collection! Happy shopping Andrea and thanks to everyone who entered! Having been blanketed in snow, I’m eagerly anticipating spring by shopping for some fun new kids clothes that will reflect the new season. Tea Collection is one of my favorite lines to browse because of their beautiful designs with a global influence “for little citizens of the world.” As I wait for the snow to melt and for the buds of cherry blossoms to appear throughout the DC area, I want to snap up pieces from Tea Collection’s girl collection to accelerate the process

title pic Nook What Came in the Mail!

Yes, a Nook! To me, there’s just something about a new book. The stiff binding and crisp pages always feel wonderful in my hands but as a lover of technology, I’m pretty giddy that a Nook arrived on my doorstep today but wonder how my traditional book reading self will like it! I don’t own a Kindle or a Sony Reader so this is truly my first experience with an electronic reading device. While my Nook is charging, I’m setting up my account on BarnesandNoble.com , exploring the titles to figure out what I might read on the Nook first, and want to know..

Founded in 1886 by Martha Callanan, The Woman’s Standard was a publication of the Iowa State Women’s Suffrage Association. While there are names throughout the newspaper of women (and men) who wrote in and reported about equality and suffrage, there is also some great historical information that can benefit your research.

Now we can all go hands-free  at home or the office with everything from automated soap dispensers, faucets and toilet flushers to trashcans and paper towel dispensers.

title pic Hail to the Chief

By Gena Philibert Ortega Most everyone has those family stories that may not be backed up with written documentation, but the story is strongly believed all the same. Maybe your grandma told you that her grandfather rode with Jesse James. Maybe you have a Lee surname and you have been told that somewhere on the family tree you are related to General Robert E.

title pic Census 2010

Every child loves a good game of hide and seek. There are the fun butterflies they get in their tummies when they’re waiting to be discovered and the pride they feel when they’re able to count to ten and then yelling, “Ready or not, here I come!” But children who are hidden from the U.S. Census counts (taken only once every 10 years) are not a laughing matter.
