Over the weekend, the American Cancer Society in Greenwood, South Carolina held a huge cake-themed fundraiser. This day long event included challenges where individuals could compete for the best tasting cake and the best decorated cake and was wrapped up with a concert and cake social. I heard about The Purple Cupcake Project the other day via a Facebook posting by Atlanta cupcake bakery Sweet Pockets , who will be selling purple cupcakes from March 22-26th, and didn’t realize it was part of a larger happening. Though we prefer the sweet kind of cupcakes, there is room for savory cupcakes in this vast cupcake world.
